Bio’s

Edward McKeever

Edward has traveled extensively for the last fourteen years studying and making art throughout much of China, Nepal, Southeast Asia, South America, Australia, France and North America.
In 2005 he was awarded the prestigious Norfolk Scholarship from Yale University.
After graduating from Bard College with a BFA  degree in Studio Arts in upstate New York in 2006 Edward found a home for his passions regarding sustainability and natural paint and design work when he established Strong River Painters in New York City.
In 2007 Edward was hired as lead hand for projects at the world-renowned Gorman Studios in Vancouver.
Feeling ill from toxic aspects of professional painting and seeing the distinct need for a nontoxic painting business, Edward established the Vancouver branch of his company in 2008, adding design aspects to the roster and renaming it to Strong River.

Robert Chursinoff

Robert has spent much of the past decade touring extensively and recording with Canadian singer/songwriters Tegan and Sara and Australian pop star Ben Lee among others, throughout North America, Europe, Japan and Australia.
His passion for meeting new people, photographing and writing about his travels brought him to the home of Edward and his lovely wife Marta in the Fall of 2006. A bond was formed during a photo session on the rooftop of their Brooklyn apartment. Two years later Edward asked Robert if he’d like to slow the globe-trotting for a while, bring his eye for detail, his team-work skills, his passion for sustainabilty and his penchant for all things worldly and discerning to the table at Strong River. Yes of course he would, was his reply.
